The World Health Organisation (WHO) made the first World Health Assembly in 1948 and established World Health Day. The first World Health Day was held on April 7, 1950, and it has been celebrated on the day every year ever since. WHO focuses global attention on urgent actions needed to?keep humans and the planet healthy?and foster a movement to?create societies focused on well-being.? This year’s theme, “Our Planet, Our Health” is?highlighting the link between climate change and health issues as well.

As Henri Frederic Amiel said: “In health there is freedom. Health is the first of all liberties.” In 1948, the?World Health Organization defined health with a phrase that modern authorities still apply. ?Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.? Being healthy looks different for different people. When you are healthy, you will feel well: physically, mentally, and socially. Being healthy means feeling your best.

Keeping healthy will also help you keep free of chronic diseases, like heart disease and cancer. Some more key advantages of eating healthily and working out regularly are that you will live longer, have more energy in daily aspects of your life and you will also be keeping medicine bills down.

Here are some tips to stay healthy:

  • Maintain a Healthy Weight.
  • Exercise Regularly.
  • Don?t Smoke.
  • Eat a Healthy Diet.
  • Drink Alcohol Only in Moderation, If at All.
  • Protect Yourself from the Sun.

Being healthy is everyone?s right, as is equal access to appropriate healthcare. This World Health Day, let us celebrate and work towards building a healthier world for everyone. Happy World Health Day everyone!
