Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School chooses 3D Organon to prove the importance of VR for procedural education.
Harvard Medical School‘s physicians and academics Rohan Jotwani, Michael Fiore, Robert Jason Yong, and David Hao, of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston published a paper about “Virtual reality for procedural education: Lumbar medial branch radiofrequency neurotomy”. 3D Organon is being used as an ideal implementation of Virtual Reality Simulation in medical education.
As Jotwani et al. refer: “With this technology, we can demonstrate key fluoroscopic views and needle trajectories based on specific recommendations from Spine Intervention Society guidelines. Furthermore, the learner can manipulate the model in multiple 3-dimensional axes to visualize anatomy relevant to key fluoroscopic views. Finally, the content can be exported by recording a live casting stream, thus offering an approach for future content creation and collaboration.”
